In one of the previous articles, I talked about the Pearl of the Persian Gulf cruise route. And somehow, in my opinion, he very modestly mentioned this miracle of technology and the flight of engineering thought. I’m correcting myself and publishing a full review of this handsome giant.
MSC World Europa is the premiere ship of the new class of the MSC Cruises fleet – World Class. The ship is being built at the French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique and will set off on its first cruise in 2022 after the inauguration ceremony of the liner in Doha. And in 2024, 2025 and 2027, three more sister ships will join it.
MSC World Europa will be able to accommodate 6,762 passengers in 2,626 cabins – more than any other cruise ship currently in existence. The length of the vessel will be 330 m, width 47 m. The ship will have a futuristic Y-shaped architecture and a large area of external spaces (up to 15,000 sq. m), opening onto an open deck where passengers can enjoy the proximity of the ocean.
MSC World Europa will also have a special G-shaped bow, which will ensure maximum stability of the vessel, fuel economy and additional comfort for passengers.
Ecological liner of a new generation
In addition to its unique architecture, MSC World Europa will set new technological and environmental standards for the cruises of the future: the ship will be the first MSC Cruises ship to run on liquefied natural gas, which will also be used to generate electricity and heat on board.
This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to ships running on conventional engines. In addition, MSC World Europa will also showcase a next-generation wastewater treatment system that exceeds some of the world’s most stringent regulatory standards, as well as other advanced environmental technologies.
