I didn’t choose this cruise for review by chance, it’s very attractive and here’s why. An unusual route with interesting places, a high-class ship, a lot of seal rest. For some, it will seem like a minus that it is sent from the states, the city of Miami. Like visas are needed, but believe me, they were issued and are still being issued to this day. It would be desirable.
If this is the only problem, then look at the “Pearls of the Caribbean” cruise, where a French Schengen visa is enough to board the ship. Well, here, you will visit Miami (more than once), Mexico, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Dominican, Cayman and Bahamas. And the highlight of the program will be the island of Ocean Cay, beloved by cruise lovers.
And all this in a very measured, unhurried route. There will be enough time for everything, both gawking and sunbathing.
Caribbean cruise route
This particular cruise departs on September 10, 2023 from the port of Miami and follows the Caribbean in both its western and eastern parts. Travel duration 14 nights/15 days. There are the same options in August and October, but for the review I chose the most optimal price. There is enough time to prepare and book a cruise, read, plan and act.
And so, we arrive at least a day before the ship departs for Miami. This city is relatively young, it is only 127 years old. Today it is a prestigious world resort, as well as the business center of the country. “Gateway to Latin America” — this city is often called. The main entertainment during the day will be the large beaches with their infrastructure, and nightlife takes place in bars and discos.
Western Caribbean
On the designated day we find and arrive at the Miami cruise port. Departure of the liner at 22.00.

Georgetown, Cayman Islands — The next habitat of the pirates of the Caribbean. Let’s take a look? Georgetown is the capital of the island state. There are interesting excursions to historical sites of the colonial past. But as a rule, tourism is associated with holidays near the coast — horseback riding and boat rides, scuba diving, beaches.
Stop in the Mexican city of Cozumel. During the 10 hours allotted for parking, you need to do the following:
- Visit Chankanaab National Park
- Ruins with giant pyramids of San Gervasio
- Ancient Mayan ruins of El Sedral
- Paradise Beach and Playa Palancar

Now we head to the east of the Caribbean.
It was not for nothing that I mentioned that the cruise is measured, we are again at sea for a day. We inspect what we haven’t seen yet on the liner. The Eastern Caribbean is simply pleasing to the eye.
Amber Cove, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The city of Puerto Plata is a very popular resort, and is also famous for its tobacco and rum.

- Take a funicular ride to the top of Mount Isabela

San Juan — capital of Puerto Rico. The city is rich primarily in its colonial heritage. Visit Fort San Felipe del Morro, it was named after King Phillip II of Spain.
A day at sea. There will be no more opportunity to leisurely enjoy the comfort of the ship. Use time correctly.
Nassau — capital of the Bahamas. The city, although small, is very dynamically developing. What to see:
- Be sure to visit the Pirate Museum
- Queen Victoria’s Staircase
- Observation deck of the water tower
- Rawson Square
And again the beautiful sea of the Eastern Caribbean, pleasant golden sand on the beaches of the breathtaking beauty of the island Ocean Cay. We spend 15 hours taking pictures, shooting videos, going for a massage, swimming and sunbathing. Feeling — life is good!
Arriving at the port of Miami. Our cruise is over. We fly home with a pleasant feeling of satisfaction. I’m done! — We whisper quietly to ourselves, but we can shout out as we please.
