Baltic and Scandinavia on a sea cruise from St. Petersburg

I have busy plans for 2022. I have 2 cruises booked, I’ll tell you about one of them today. “15 Day Magical Journey” — That’s what this cruise is called on one of the websites. The sea cruise starts in the Baltic Sea from the city of St. Petersburg. Further, his route passes through Scandinavia, covering several countries and cities of northern Europe. Back in September I managed to book this cruise.

Why it was possible? Cruises from St. Petersburg are being sold out very quickly by our compatriots. After all, the departure is very convenient; Russians can even get to the landing place by train or car. And not only this circumstance attracts. In connection with possible quarantine measures, communication in your native language is extremely necessary and can help in quickly resolving any issue. As they say: “houses and walls help”!

Baltic-Scandinavian route

In this rush, I didn’t really look at the route we’ll take in September. When I started preparing to write this article, I was pleasantly surprised. It turns out that our cruise ship enters one of the fjords of Norway, the city of Flåm. I’ve wanted to go there for so long! And although in this large route there will be only one Aurlendsfjord, which is part of the huge Sognefjorde, I still I’m just delighted.

  1. St. Petersburg (Russia)
  2. Tallinn (Estonia)
  3. At sea
  4. Kiel (Germany)
  5. Copenhagen (Denmark)
  6. Oslo (Norway)
  7. Kristiansand (Norway)
  8. At sea
  9. Flåm (Norway)
  10. At sea
  11. Kiel (Germany)
  12. Copenhagen (Denmark)
  13. At sea
  14. Helsinki (Finland)
  15. St. Petersburg (Russia)

Of the listed stops Baltic and Scandinavia, I have only been to St. Petersburg and Tallinn. And then, it was so long ago that it’s hard to believe. It will be extremely interesting to see these cities after 30 years.

We were on a cruise to Northern Europe, but not a single city from that cruise will be repeated on this one. In general, I really liked the cities of northern Europe: London, Hamburg, Bruges, Amsterdam.

Especially the last 2 cities. They have a unique style of architecture that cannot be found anywhere else. Our Baltic-Scandinavian route passes through practically cities and countries, where we can see all this again and even more.

I think the timing of the cruise was excellent. The end of August, the beginning of September is still warm even on the fjord. And again we will celebrate Svetlana’s birthday on a trip, it has practically become a tradition.

Cruise ship MSC Grandiosa

The MSC Grandiosa liner was built in 2019, but due to quarantine I didn’t go on cruises much. A brand new, modern, Meraviglia class Plus will take us across the expanses of the Baltic and Scandinavia.

I was on the very first ship of the Meraviglia class, that’s what it was called. Remember my article about it? If you wish, read: Cruise ship MSC Meraviglia. Huge liner! I can imagine what impressions MSC Grandiosa will leave us with.

I borrowed the video for now, but then, as usual, I’ll film my review of the ship MSC Grandiosa.

I hope in a year the situation will stabilize and we will go on this wonderful cruise to the Baltic and Scandinavia from St. Petersburg.

The cruise was canceled due to sanctions, and the club «ordered to live long». Alas, the beautiful fairy tale called InCruises is over. Although, if I had known and used the services of a legal aid service, I could have avoided many problems.

In the next article you will learn about the second Gulf cruise from Dubai, which I have booked for 2022. This too was subsequently cancelled. But I didn’t despair and without this politicized club I booked an even better cruise «Pearls of the Persian Gulf«, on the ultra-modern cruise ship MSC Virtuosa.
