Next we visited the famous museum Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Champs Elysees , the Arc de Triomphe and finally the world-famous Eiffel Tower!
Just imagine this emotional explosion! We drove to the hotel as if we had fallen from this very tower. Hunger and fatigue were relieved in a nearby cafe. We sat for a long time over a glass of wine discussing what we had seen…
Excursions in Paris
But time flies inexorably and the very next day we visited no less interesting and significant places in Paris.
Having already learned a little, I became familiar with the Paris metro application.
Literally he could build the shortest route to any point in the capital of France. After all, we had to get to the excursion bus and back on our own.
Louvre Museum
It’s great that Paris has a lot of tourist bus routes. On one of them we visited the world-famous Louvre Museum a couple of times.
Notre Dame Cathedral
On the same route there was a stop near Notre Dame Cathedral. It was a beautiful day. It was not hot, although it was the end of October. For almost a couple of weeks the temperature did not exceed 20*
Montmartre
The second loop of our tour bus passed through the old district of Paris – Montmartre. More ancient houses, quiet streets, creative bohemia, souvenir shops, the Moulin Rouge and of course the Sacré-Coeur Basilica – all this said that we were in Montmartre.
When we climbed up the steep stairs to the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, we had a view of almost the whole of Paris. The temple itself appeared in all its glory! We walked around and went out into the ancient streets, where we each made a purchase as a souvenir.
I bought this scarf. Well, how about a newly minted Frenchman?
By the way, from this point you can see the other side of Paris. Perhaps the depth is not very visible in the photograph, but this is exactly the side that professionals photograph. We met them here, but like true gentlemen, they, seeing the influx of tourists, politely stepped aside and vacated the observation deck.
We walked along these streets a little more, eagerly peering at the surrounding landscape, apparently to remember better, but still began to return. Going down steep stairs is not going up. Periodically photographing everything around us, we moved to the stop of our tourist bus.
I can’t even imagine how much we walked that day, the stairs to the Basilica alone are worth it. We decided to return to the hotel. After dinner at the cafe we went back to our rooms.
Alexander Bridge lll
On the fourth day, all our excursions ended. It was decided to go on our own to where we liked the most and grab what we didn’t particularly notice.
First we went to the Champ de Mars, where there is a more spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower. Then we walked to the Alexander Bridge lll. The walk ended at the Arc de Triomphe.
Train from Paris to Le Havre
The next day we needed to get to the city of Le Havre, which is two hundred kilometers from Paris. We took the metro to the st Lazare railway station. We prudently bought tickets for the train back in Samara, again saving a certain amount of euro money.
Then there was something. I don’t just call it a train, but an electric train. This is true, BUT! When entering the 2nd class carriage, I wanted to take off my shoes. How cozy and cool it is! Bus seats. There is a 220V socket near each, carpet on the floor, 2 toilets per carriage. I wonder what’s in the 1st class carriages?!
What happens next is even more amazing. After the train picked up speed, which was at least 100 km/h, Gennady and I looked at each other in surprise. And where is the usual tuduh-tuduh??? It was as if we were flying along the highway in a car.
Although the train flies at breakneck speed, there is no sense of movement. Seriously, like driving a good foreign car on a German highway. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and a couple of hours just flew by.
Le Havre
Here we went a little wrong. If only we could take a taxi and go straight from the station to the port, we began to find out which bus we could take. As a result, we left in the other direction, and still called a taxi to the port.
Finally we are at customs in the seaport. We checked in our luggage and went to the ship. Thus began our eight-day cruise through Northern Europe.
The next day, a corner of medieval Europe, the city of Bruges, Belgium, awaited us.
