After two unforgettable days spent in Barcelona, a different reality arrived. I found myself on MSC Cruises’ brand new Meraviglia. Miracle – this is exactly the translation from Italian of the word Meraviglia. The company’s new flagship MSC was built in 2017 at the French shipyard STX in Saint-Nazaré. This giant, together with its crew, can accommodate 5,700 passengers.
The eight magical days spent on this ship left unforgettable impressions in my memory. After all, MSC Meraviglia is a unique combination of design, the latest technology, practicality and comfort. The liner can moor at any cruise port in the world, which makes a voyage on it even more attractive and does not limit the choice of destination. Regardless of the time of year, the ship’s passengers will feel comfortable and carefree.

The first 2-3 days it was difficult for me to navigate the ship. You need to go through a lot of corridors to find your cabin. Over time, you begin to remember and understand the location of the main elevators, atrium, reception, restaurants, and swimming pool. You move more accurately and faster. You understand which elevator and which direction is better to go in order to end up in the right place on the ship.

Promenade
One of the main attractions of the ship is the promenade. This is the main alley of the liner, which is 96 meters long. It houses restaurants, cafes, recreational facilities, boutiques, and all this under an incredibly beautiful 80-meter LED screen (480 m2) located on the ceiling. At different times of the day, the image above the main promenade of the ship Meraviglia changes.

Atrium
The atrium is located at the beginning of the promenade. This is a high, three-story room with a mirrored ceiling and stairs that are decorated with Swarovski crystals. A very beautiful and conveniently located place on the ship.

Atrium
The reception is a convenient place for meetings! Here, for example, we met in the morning to go ashore, and in the evening — to attend various events.

As on other ships of similar series, there are a number of cabins on board Meraviglia:

My partner and I, by a pleasant coincidence, got a cabin with a balcony. Although we booked an internal one. That is, at the booking stage we got a guaranteed cabin without numbering. And a little later, for the wait, we were given a cabin with a balcony. Which, of course, we were happy about.

In the cabins everything is arranged functionally and conveniently, despite the small area of the room. Here is a list of what created us comfort and coziness:

In a word, everything is very adapted to life. Although I didn’t have to be in the room so often, nevertheless, this is your corner, your territory.
Room cleaning daily. If you wish, you can order breakfast in bed; to do this, just fill out a special form in the evening and indicate the time of the morning meal.

A wide balcony with chairs and a table allows you to admire the views overboard. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, calling at the next port, or sailing from this, all this gives a special charm to living in such a cabin.
Power
Food — This is always a special topic for tourists. In addition to emotional food, I also want to experience the festival of the belly with new(ish) taste sensations and become, at least for a little while, a gourmet.
Several restaurants on board the ship will amaze you with a variety of dishes. Eastern and Western cuisines will surprise you with their delights and will find their admirers and gourmets. And also almost half of the fifteenth deck is given over to the dining room, buffet type meals.

The buffet is, of course, very convenient! You can eat a variety of dishes at almost any time of the day. I won’t list everything, but believe me, there are both first courses (at lunch) and second and third courses. As well as a large assortment of snacks, fruits and desserts.
But I still liked eating at the restaurant more! It’s a pity that we only had the opportunity to visit this establishment for dinner. Why did I like it more?

Let’s start with the fact that the restaurant offers the most exquisite, exotic dishes. Plus the atmosphere itself and its own ceremony. Everyone tries to follow the dress code, men in tuxedos, women in evening dresses. Which undoubtedly gives the dinner an atmosphere of celebration and fun.

Both children and adults will not be bored on a cruise. A wide range of entertainment is presented to your attention, which will delight even the most sophisticated traveler. I was convinced of this personally! Sports, concerts, shows, water park, attractions, Cirque Du Soleil and much more…
Cirque du Soleil
Daily passengers Meraviglia will be able to see two original programs of this famous circus group, which take place six times a week. I think there is no need to talk about the professionalism of this troupe; they are known throughout the world.
It was strictly forbidden to film the performance, and I just found a video from the Internet.
It’s very convenient that you choose the day and time to go to the show. Two sessions, one performance at 19:00 and the second at 22:00. The Italian at the entrance, who makes reservations, advised us to choose a specific show:

Now I don’t remember which show I was at.
I definitely didn’t regret it! The young guys did a great job! Modern decorations, using computer graphics, certain lighting and LCD screens, created the illusion of a fairy tale. And how they literally flew around the hall…
Cirque Du Soleil Hall — This is a specially prepared rectangular room, with a round arena in the center and bar counters at the entrance. Located at the stern, at the very end of the ship.
The only thing that spoiled the overall impression were the opening acts. For about 40 minutes, one group of musicians with an incomprehensible style of music took the soul out of the audience. Something like Latin music sounded. Ah, if only it were 2-3 songs…
Broadway Theater – the main theater on the liner
Almost every day, in the evenings, performances, colorful shows and concerts are held in the main theater of the MSC Meraviglia liner. Watch the video I shot and edited of one of the show performances.

Adults and children on a sea cruise will love the modern water park on the upper deck of the ship. It includes three slides, a Himalayan bridge, a number of swimming pools and plenty of other cruise ship activities that will keep you entertained.

I never got to ride the water slide. Either the weather was not very good, or something else got in the way. For example, on the last day of the cruise we were at sea all day. And the weather was wonderful, but there were so many people in the water park that you would have had to stand in line for 2-3 hours for the slide.
Oh well, it’s not small, I’ll catch up on the next cruise.

The central pool is the largest, located in the middle of the ship on deck 15. Competitions, aerobics, and sometimes a disco are held here.

The indoor pool is also located on deck 15. It’s a whole complex. In addition to the adult pool, it contains several Jacuzzis and a children’s pool. There is a bar.

The aft pool is small and located on deck 17 at the end of the ship. In the evening, the sunbeds are removed and discos are held near it. One of the many music bars is located here.

It’s nice to have a water massage in the jacuzzi in the morning! Especially if there is such a nice view outside the window…
Shopping
Here you can buy souvenirs and jewelry; there are a number of shops on the ship for shopping. Valuables and trinkets for every taste. I myself did not pursue the goal of buying anything in local boutiques, but I strolled through them with pleasure.
It is much more profitable to shop in cities along the cruise route. I also brought a few souvenirs from my trip.
