And this is a huge saving of money and time, and this applies to all types of costs: transport, hotels, food…
A traveler can either spend a calm and measured vacation or fill it with unforgettable impressions. After all, at port stops there are a lot of interesting excursions, and on board there is a daily entertainment program and water treatments by the pool.
The comfort in the cabins is higher than the level of hotels of a similar class, everything is clearly planned, there is no need to move to each resort, carrying things with you, all-inclusive meals. The journey is impressive and not as expensive as most people think.
What is a trip on a cruise ship
Cruises are divided into:
- Around the world, (covering a huge number of countries)
- Transatlantic, (crossing the ocean)
- Coastal, (classic routes)
- Expeditionary (to inaccessible, extreme zones).
When choosing such a trip, the conditions created for children and people with disabilities are taken into account. A special category is wedding cruises, which allow you to get married on board the ship and go on a memorable voyage.
Transitions are carried out at night, almost every morning you find yourself in a new place, have breakfast and can get ready for excursions. One or two days are spent at sea (depending on the route), you can swim in the pool and sunbathe. Most of the daily shows on board are free, you can order alcohol or non-alcoholic drinks.
Stops take place in interesting ports, so only port and nearby cities are explored. To explore other places, excursions must be booked, or you can travel independently using accessible transport without escort. The main thing is not to forget about the time of boarding the ship and return on time.
When choosing, it is important to carefully study the route and interpret it correctly. Cities located at a considerable distance from the vessel’s anchorage are often indicated. This means that you will have to book additional excursions. It is advisable to book tours with Russian-speaking groups in advance, taking into account the need for additional costs.
Price of travel on a cruise ship
Prices are not prohibitive. If you calculate a similar route by car or plane, then such a trip by sea will turn out to be much cheaper. Let’s just say, no more expensive than a regular tour to Turkey. The cost of a sea cruise depends on its type, class of ship and company (standard, luxury, premium), number of days, level of cabin comfort, booking time, and varies widely.
I have already described in detail the types of cabins on the ship, let me remind you of the main ones:
- Economy (internal, without portholes);
- Mid-class (located higher than the main deck, with a window or balconies with a sun lounger and a table);
- Luxury class (with a convenient layout and location on one of the upper decks, looks like an expensive mansion).
The cheapest cruises in Europe, the average cost of one night is 4480 RUR (50 €), for a week 62 715 RUR (700 €), sometimes less. The cost of a two-week transatlantic trip is 162,715 R (1,700 €). You can save money in the off-season (during the route), since there are few stops and travelers.
Travel on a cruise ship from Russia
Cruise ports in Russia include Sochi, St. Petersburg, and Vladivostok. Currently, most routes from these cities are limited by sanctions from the United States, the European Union and the like. But one, unlimited direction began to develop very quickly — sea cruises from Sochi.
Previously, from St. Petersburg you could go on a cruise to the Baltic and Scandinavia. And from Vladivostok ships sailed to Japan and Korea.
