Happy New Year 2023, dear reader!
I hope the holiday went as you planned: fun, satisfying, cheerful. After all, you already know how to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. Well, since the new year has begun, then the news should correspond. Today we will talk about the newest cruise ship MSC Euribia. It is still being completed at French shipyards, but in the summer of 2023 it will open its first season in the Norwegian fjords.
According to the press release, the ship will have a different design from its sister ships MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa in the Meraviglia Plus class. And it’s all thanks to “an exclusive piece of art designed as MSC Cruises’ commitment to the sea.”
New generation ocean liner MSC Euribia
MSC Euribia will be launched in 2023 and will be the second ship in the MSC Cruises fleet to use the most environmentally friendly fuel – liquefied natural gas. It will be equipped with the latest and most modern technologies and solutions to reduce the impact on the environment.
The ship was named after the ancient goddess of sea power, who harnessed the winds, weather and constellations to rule the seas. The hull decoration of MSC Euribia will feature a distinctive design, which was selected following a global competition and symbolizes MSC Cruises’ commitment to maritime traditions.
Everything is provided here to make a cruise trip a real holiday for MSC Cruises guests:
- indoor promenade under the longest LED dome at sea with restaurants and boutiques in the very center of the ship;
- 10 restaurants and 21 bars;
- 5 incredible pools, including one of the largest water parks in the sea, which can comfortably accommodate more than 1000 people at a time. The area of the main pool is 1700 sq. m;
- Theater with 945 seats, with nightly live performances and shows;
- Excellent infrastructure for children, including play areas from LEGO®;
- Balinese MSC Aurea Spa with an exclusive thermal area with sauna, steam bath and hydromassage, professional hair and nail salon, as well as a huge selection of massages and beauty treatments;
- MSC Yacht Club for the most discerning traveler: premier stateroom layout in a dedicated members-only area, 24-hour butler service, private restaurant and lounge areas, private pool and hot tubs, access to the MSC Aurea Spa.
MSC Euribia will depart on its first cruise in Northern European waters in June 2023. What will be discussed in the next article.
Environmental technologies at MSC Euribia
Engines and fuel. 4 LNG engines means the vessel does not require exhaust gas treatment systems.
Emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Selective catalytic emission reduction system providing up to 90% cleanup.
Energy connection between shore and ship. Allows you to turn off ship engines and connect to local electrical power systems in those ports that have such infrastructure.
Wastewater
- Advanced wastewater treatment system, built to the most stringent standards.
- Advanced ballast wastewater treatment system.
Protection of marine life
Underwater Radiated Noise Control System — potential acoustic impact on marine fauna has been reduced.
Energy efficiency
All new MSC Cruises ships are equipped with energy-efficient equipment to optimize engine utilization. Such equipment includes “smart” ventilation and an advanced air conditioning system. They redistribute heat and cold, reducing energy consumption. Ships use LED lighting controlled by smart systems to reduce energy consumption.
Small video presentation of the liner
This is just a short preview of the MSC Euribia cruise ship. Now all the features are kept secret, however, as always on any of the new liners. There will be a surprise! As it was, for example, at the inauguration of the MSC World Europa liner. That’s when we’ll find out all the details.
