One by one, cruise ships are leaving the slipway. Most recently, the inauguration took place and the premiere cruise of the new ship of the company MSC World Europa took place. But we are already seeing how, under the leadership of the founder and president of MSC, Gianluigi Aponte, the 21st ship of the fleet was launched — MSC Seascape.
The liner is currently departing from Rome to New York for the official inauguration, and then the first voyages in the Caribbean. For the 18th time, Sophia Loren will become the godmother of the ships of the flotilla of the Italian company MSC Cruises.
This grand event is still ahead, but for now we will take a walk around the cruise ship.
This ship is almost a twin of the MSC Seashore, with the exception of some innovations. The main concept of the Seaside class ships — is the unity of man with the sea. The huge area of the promenade gives you no feeling of isolation from the outside world. Along the ship’s hull there are numerous cafes, swimming pools, and recreation areas. Panoramic elevators and breathtaking — the skywalk Bridge of Sighs, all of which offer stunning views of the ocean.
You have the full feeling that you are walking along the embankment of a resort town, where it is lively and festive, good music is playing and beautiful views of both the sea and the luxury hotels of the resort.
Design features
MSC Seascape pays homage to New York City, which as a destination embodies the spirit of discovery and cultural experience at the heart of MSC Cruises’ guest experience. Thus, design features, public areas and venue names are inspired by the US capital city.
These include an imposing three-meter replica of the Statue of Liberty in the center of the casino and a newly designed expansive shopping and entertainment area aptly named Times Square.
The main feature of this new area is an impressive 8.5 meter tall LED wall spanning four floors, projecting the iconic skyline of this Manhattan entertainment center that can change from day to night.
Pool on the upper deck
The main pool is located on deck 18. It has two different depths so guests can swim or just stand and dangle in the water. The newly designed area includes an island with a fountain and 360-degree water in the center, as well as a new lounging space within the pool.
It is connected to a pirate bay-themed water park to create an expansive water area for children.
Open areas
MSC Seascape, at 1,112 feet, is the longest ship in the fleet and offers 139,930 square feet of open space. Standout design features include the impressive glass-floored Bridge of Sighs, located at a unique vantage point on Deck 16, which is
72 feet above the infinity pool. Stunning panoramic stern elevators and stylish glass-floored podiums on both sides of the ship on the waterfront.
Family and children
With a dedicated children’s space of 7,567 sq. m, the largest in the fleet, and redesigned rooms, the children’s area on board MSC Seascape offers an unrivaled experience. Featuring a new futuristic design,
dedicated to space and planetary exploration, the MSC Seascape Kids Club will give all children the opportunity to reach for the stars through decor, color schemes and room themes.
Every cruise includes a special, can’t-miss event: the «LEGO® Experience on board». A full day of LEGO® construction and fun for the whole family.
With 98 hours of live family entertainment per cruise, there’s always something new and exciting for both parents and kids to enjoy together!
Robotron
This is a state-of-the-art robotic arm with an attached gondola that can accommodate three guests. Flying 53 meters above sea level, ROBOTRON provides a unique 360-degree view of the horizon, sending riders upside down and in different directions.
Imagine how much adrenaline you can catch?! The attraction offers the thrill of a roller coaster ride over the sea. And all this is combined with personalized music from a DJ.
MSC Aurea Spa
